3 brunettes walked into a bar.....or The Listening Room to be exact....for Music Row's Country Breakout Awards during the start of 2018 CRS Week in Nashville, Tennessee. Surrounded by artists, radio promoters and managers, people were smashed in that room from wall to wall awaiting to celebrate this event. "We were honored to be a part of the sea of excited artists and we are grateful for our radio promotions team, Ann Chrisman, Anne Yarbrough and Regina Raleigh for working so hard to crack Scrapyard in the Top 60 of the Music Row Country Breakout Charts" says Melissa of GalFriday . The sister trio appreciates so much the genuine love of music and artistry that Music Row's own Alex Kobrick and Sherod Robertson showed to artists during the event. "We won't forget our experience and look forward to being in that room again real soon" says Ashley. Congratulations to this years winners, that included Kelsea Ballerini, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Combs, Ashley Gorley and Shane Owens! And as an added bonus, the ladies of GalFriday got to meet Si Robertson of the Duck Dynasty Family, along with his daughter-in-law Marsha Robertson and famed songwriter, Bridgette Tatum of Uncle Si & The Sicotics. Lauren said "Uncle Si hugged me like we had known each other for years!" GalFriday looks to return to the Country Breakout Charts soon..........
GalFriday hit their stride in 2017 having shared the stage with some of country music's biggest acts like Jason Aldean, Darius Ruckers, Charles Esten, Lauren Alaina, Kane Brown, Darryl Worley, Brothers Osborne and more. Having been invited to some of the biggest festivals in the United States was a huge accomplishment for these three beautiful ladies. Having released their single "Scrapyard" to country radio, along with their album "Smoke & Mirrors" was a dream come true and they are taking their music on the road in 2018. Finishing the year with hitting #63, in the Top 80 of the Music Row Breakout charts serves as great motivation to continue to get their music out to the masses. Just when you thought no one could rise to the ranks of Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert’s vengeful yet confidence-boosting melodies, country trio Gal Friday swoops in and proves you wrong. Their debut single “Scrapyard” is easily the next end-of-summer break-up hit. With a strong, southern rock melody, rich southern gospel three-part harmony and lyrics that will make a man repent for his idiocy comes a girl-power song about how “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”

When the sisters of country trio Gal Friday heard the term “girl Friday” described on television, they knew instantly it was the perfect name for their band. “A woman on television referred to her best friend as her ‘girl Friday’ – her confidant, her Friday night out, her ride-or-die,” says member Melissa York. “We tweaked it a bit, being from the south – and Gal Friday was born.” Comprised of York, Ashley Min and Lauren Wilson, the sound that accompanies the endearing name is a sonically pleasing blend of the best their upbringing had to offer: southern gospel, rock, bluegrass and country. Their synergistic sibling harmonies and bluegrass soul peppered with notes of southern rock has resulted in a style that is unique and undeniably catchy.
How did you three get started in the music industry?
We grew up singing in church and as we got older, many people would come up to us and ask us why we were not performing professionally. As sisters, we would get asked to sing all the time at events so we wondered why we had not thought of that ourselves. So we put a band together, gave ourselves a name and have been performing ever since. ~ Ashley

Comprised of three sisters -- Melissa York, Ashley Min and Lauren Wilson -- Gal Friday are the result of a diverse bunch of musical influences, ranging from pop-country sensibilities to the band’s upbringing as the children of successful bluegrass musicians. That mingling of sounds is evident on “Scrapyard,” a spunky, totally relatable heartbreak anthem that will fit in perfectly on playlists alongside Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum and maybe a little Gretchen Wilson.
“Heartbreak happens to us all. We can all relate to it,” the band tells The Boot. “This song talks about how to dust yourself off, learn your worth and move on."

Since forming the trio, Gal Fridayhas been a featured opener for a myriad of notable acts, including Keith Urban, The Band Perry, Jason Aldean, Lee Brice, Kellie Pickler, Chase Rice, Wynonna Judd and Travis Tritt, among others.
